Led by the irresistible energy of the West African rhythm guitarist and master drummer, Mamadou Diop, the band MAMADOU presents a world-class cultural experience. The sound is a guitar and drum led groove that builds on the flavors of high-life, juju, rumba, samba, salsa, and reggae blended with authentic West African ethnic rhythms. Though MAMADOU’s songs are sung in several languages, the language of music is universal and instantly understood.
The band MAMADOU is an electric and acoustic blend of world-class musicians. Compositions are original, primarily written and/or arranged by Mamadou Diop. His songs emphasize the importance of family, friendship, and offer insights that help us to enrich our lives.
Based in the Greater Boston area, MAMADOU has introduced their unique style of music throughout the New England area and beyond. You can always reach out directly to inquire about availabilities for your special occasions. We thank you for your interest and your support!
