Meet Hiba el Haiba, also known as EBBA, a 25-year-old passionate artist and former resident DJ at the renowned THE MIX MARRAKESH, famous for her dynamic sets. Born with a love for rhythm and originally from Casablanca, she has lived in five different cities across Morocco before being captivated by Marrakech, where she has settled for the past nine years. With an undying passion for electronic music, EBBA doesn't just play music—she excels at guitar, bass, and drums. She was also the lead singer of the local band WEST WING.
Outside the music industry, Hiba has a career in philanthropy, where she is dedicated to promoting the well-being of others, often through generous donations to noble causes. She began mixing with Morocco’s first female DJ collective "SoundsistersMorocco," which empowers women in the music industry. Her goal is to have a positive impact by sharing music and her energy with the world. Making people dance makes her feel alive. Happiness is at the heart of everything she does.
Ebba was influenced by her uncle, one of the well-known resident DJs at Theatro Marrakech in the early 2000s. Growing up, she watched him develop a deep passion for vinyl records, and the energy he transmitted to her through his music was incredibly powerful. She is inspired by many local Moroccan figures who have achieved international success by playing or creating music and who have discovered a life without restrictions, with a distinct purpose to pursue. This passion led her to explore different genres and to develop a unique style that harmoniously blends various musical experiences.
Her skill lies in her ability to read the crowd and adapt her sets, ensuring a vibrant musical experience. Her smooth techniques captivate the audience. She knows how to spark enthusiasm in her listeners and leave a lasting impression.
She has performed in some of the most renowned clubs and events in Morocco, such as LA CASCADE AIN-DIAB, ANTIQ, BEYTT Mogador, TAGHAZOUT-SURF-EXPO, L’ENVERS, Mega Loft, Alma and Co, etc.
