I have over 25 years as a violinist and have toured the country. Ive played countless stadiums and arenas in half time shows and award shows for the NFL, NHL, and NBA. I have also played for the CMAs, CMTs, The Grand Ole Opry, Ellen, Marie Osbourne Show and more. I have opened for Cee Lo Green, played with Rihanna, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, and the Killers.

Is the event inside or outside? - If outside, shade is requested. A heater is required if the temperature falls below 60 degrees. In case of precipitation, all gear must be covered, and violin performance may pause until the rain stops. Notify the performer of any stairs or obstacles that may be present while loading in.
Artist can only provide sound for up to 40 people max. Additional sound / lighting must be provided by venue, client or may be requested for artist to contract additionally for a separate fee.

Melissa Barrison is a classically trained violinist who grew to encompass bluegrass, jazz, rock, gypsy, blues, country, and even reggae. Melissa has played for artists such as Rihanna and opened for Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bently, Cee Lo Green, POD and The Killers. She has made television appearances on CMT, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Marie Osmond Show, and Clash of the Cover Bands. Melissa has also performed for multiple NFL, MLB and NHL games, as well as the NBA All-Star Game Half-time Show.

I typically like to arrive 2 hours before performance time to set up and soundcheck. Depending upon the number of locations, soundcheck takes anywhere from 15-30 mins.
Whatever the client wants- I can play up to 4 hours straight -Nashville style.
Preferrably I do 2 50 min sets or multiple 45 minute sets.
Yes! Shade is requested during the day and heater required if temperature falls below 60 degrees. Location should be dry, flat and level surface with access to a power supply close by.
I have played all kinds of genres and love getting request from clients and guests. Tunes can be anywhere from radio hits, to obscure tunes from another country, or your best friends garage band. If its on spotify, I can play to it! I do prefer not play to tracks that are already violin heavy... I don't like to compete with other violinists. (exception - devil went down to Georgia - that's my FAVORITE)
