I am a professional opera and classical singer who has sung over 32 leading operatic roles on stages throughout America and Europe. In addition, I have and do also sing for large and small corporate and private events, weddings, funerals, birthday parties, and recitals.
American tenor Michael Dailey, whose voice was described by Opera News as being, “blessed with freshness”, most recently made his role debut with Pocket Opera as Luzio in Wagner’s No Love Allowed, and as Leonard Bast in the world premiere of Howards End, America with Earplay and Real Opera. Prior to that he made his role debuts as Pedrillo in Entfürung aus dem Serail, Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro, Lindoro in L'Italiana in Algeri, and Alfred in Die Fledermaus all with Opera San Jose. He made his debut with Microscopic Opera performing the role of Ben in the world premiere of Todd Goodman's opera Night of the Living Dead.
Michael spent two consecutive summers as a returning member of the prestigious Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Program. There, he performed the role of Selimo in the world premiere of the critical edition of Rossini’s Maometto II. In addition, Michael served as a Principal Resident Artist with Opera San Jose where he performed the roles of Konstantin Levin in the West Coast premiere of Anna Karenina, Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Prunier in La Rondine, Des Grieux in Manon, Beppe in Pagliacci, Alfredo in La Traviata, Nemorino in E'lisir D'amore, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Lensky in Eugene Onegin, and the title role of Faust. Other companies he has performed roles with include Knoxville Opera, Livermore Valley Opera, Virginia Opera, Tricities Opera, Ashlawn Opera Festival, Portland Opera to Go, and Des Moines Metro Opera.
Mr. Dailey’s international credits include his performances in the roles of Lucano/Primo Soldat/Famigliare in Montiverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea with Theater an der Wien in Vienna. As a member of the New York Harlem Production company, he performed the role of Sportin’ Life in Porgy & Bess on a European tour of six countries in venues including The Semperoper in Dresden and The Carré Theater in Amsterdam.
On the concert stage, Mr. Dailey has been a featured soloist with Earplay, Berkeley Symphony, Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra, Stanford Summer Chorus, Alliance Francaise Sillicon Valley, Virginia Choral Society, Todi Music Festival, Schola Cantorum, Diablo Symphony, Open Opera, South Symphony, Silicon Valley Symphony, Cole Porter Society and on the Avedis Concert series.
