Mocha, Officially James C. Waller III age 54 has been playing Saxophone, Harmonica, percussion, and Singing for many years. He Started in grammar school in the late 70’s with the saxophone, and picked up the harmonica in the 80’s only to continue his education of music in the 90’s with percussion. Mocha has always sang, but took his singing to a more serious level when he toured with Air Force Entertainments “Tops in Blue 1990” as a Saxophonist, Harmonica player, and backup vocalist.
Mocha currently works for the Department of Agriculture as The Information Technology and Network specialist but finds time for music when he is not using his Part 107 Drone License to fly Drones Commercially, or his 20+years Air Force Law Enforcement, Federal Bureau of Prisons Background to make sure that his band-mates enjoy themselves at Gigs and rehearsals.
Playing with many local bands He is currently a member of the Hoopties, the winners of the Capital Area Blues Society Battle of the Bands in 2012. He is also a Member of the Rotations of Lansing, a Funk and Soul band that has a unique way to approach some classic songs. Mocha is the Frontman Vocalist and Saxophonist for the band Newsmaker based in Flint, with the Lorio Ross Entertainment Agency based in Detroit, MI and you can hear his work on many recordings as well as locally in the Mid-Michigan areas night establishments. He is now working on the second album with his latest project "Creature of One" based out of Lansing, MI.
Mocha has always been a computer Geek, and does Music and Video editing, but finds more enjoyment in Performing. He honed his skills with a custom built computer system that could be used to control a small country but loves the computing power to show off the background of his building skills that he created from scratch for editing. Currently living in the Mason, Michigan area he is the Father of three Renasia, Asia, and James the 4th. Mocha just wants to make the next event a fun time and lends his focus to that task.
