Simply put, it’s her style, her voice, and her versatility. Her amazing vocal dexterity raises the musical bar, demonstrating effortless power, range, and control. With her comforting & engaging alto range, she brings the clarity & perfect pitch of Jill Scott or Anita Baker, while stirring your spiritual emotions with the passion and pain of gospel great Kim Burrell.
Aside from Ms. Philly’s vast and outstanding repertoire of songs, she has been blessed to perform with Walt Whitman and The Soul Children of Chicago and legendary greats such as, Jennifer Holiday & Esther Rolle in the stage play “Generation to Generation”. This vocal powerhouse has also had the honor of providing background vocals to renowned performers such as, Gladys Knight, Tremaine Hawkins, and Natalie Cole, during Motown’s 30th Anniversary recording, and has also performed in Washington D.C. at the White House. Ms. Philly has also had the honor of performing side by side with former Death Row Artist, Danny Boy. On September 10, 2006, at the Dusable Museum of African American History, Ms. Philly performed and brought audience members to their feet, in her Debut, Sold -Out concert entitled, “It’s All About Real Music”. Ms. Philly has become a staple in the Chicago music scene performing at the 2009 Chicago Musicfest and singing backgrounds for artists such as Lorenzo Owens and Maurice Mahon. In 2009, she wrote and performed in the Verizon Wireless, “How Sweet the Sound”, gospel competition commercial. In 2014 she sang background for O.A.R at the Chicago House of Blues.
In 2017 Ms. Philly released a single as part of the dynamic duo called Beautiful Sol. The single Beautiful Day by Beautiful Sol was featured on the Movie Friends, Family, and lovers sound tract Volume 3. Ms. Philly then went on to release her debut single Illusion of Inclusion June of 2019. Illusion of Inclusion is a socially conscience song with a Chicago house music influence. Illusion of Inclusion was featured at both Vocalo Radio and KKC radio stations. Ms. Philly followed up her single with her first EP “Looking in the Mirror” released October 2020. “Looking in the Mirror” is a labor of love project that features songs straight from Ms. Phiily’s heart. The EP featured songs written and co-written by her producer Trinetta Boswell of TYB Productions.
