OUR STORY
NUPORT was conceived in the early 90s as a musical band made up of musicians with great chemistry, which is the Nuport concept. The name Nuport was first spelled "New", then recently changed to "NU", meaning "fresh", or newcomer, and "Port", meaning a port of music to be picked up or dropped off at.
The original personnel was Glenn Brown: Guitarist Glenn: Keyboards, Vocals, Jo-Jo Humphrey: Bass Guitar, Vocals, Charles Thomas: Drums, (Memphis) Michael McDaniel: Tim Baskin: Tenor Saxophone, and Felix Dixon: Alto Saxophone.
Since then we have regrouped, reorganized and refined our performance and style while keeping the same concept and interplay with the current members...
