'Oscar LaDell is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who brings a timeless vulnerability to his original blend of Blues, Soul & Folk. Hailing originally from Denver Colorado, LaDell grew up in Purakaunui in the South of Aotearoa. Drawing from the moody and poignant scenes of his home, LaDell writes, plays and sings with incisiveness and depth.'
As a solo act, I bring a powerful voice and a rich guitar sound to classic songs by artists such as BB King, Sam Cooke and Otis Redding as well as (when appropriate) my own catchy, heartfelt songs. My sound is perfect for anything that requires earthy, authentic, classy music that can sit in the background but is also great for dancing and listening. I can bring a PA for an additional fee or even play and sing acoustically.
Additionally, on request, I can hire my full band The Earth Tones to provide a night or afternoon of bluesy, rootsy music perfect for parties, weddings and function searching for the perfect soulful vibe to accompany and tie together their event.
