The biggest gig I continue play as a solo artist is at Urban Farmgirl's Main Street Market, the largest outdoor market in Northern Illinois: attendance averages 5,000 - 8,000 people.
I love playing at all event venues, but I particularly enjoy performing at outdoor events like fairs, festivals and city markets.
I've played solo and have had a few bands over the years. My old band, P-H-M (Paul Hieser Music), won 2 awards from Indie Music Channel in Hollywood CA for Best Christian single and Best Christian Album in 2012.
My first band was with my 2 brothers out in Virginia during 70's. I've played coast to coast and from Texas to Wisconsin. I love the people I've met and the venues I've played.
CSN&Y and Neil Young are the biggest influences musically for me. Vocal harmonies and great acoustic melodies.
Set up is about 30 minutes (a perk that comes with being a solo musician). I typically perform 2 to 3 hours.
I love an outdoor setting, but perform well inside as well.
I can do requested songs when given enough time to learn them.
My clients love that I slip in music trivia about a song or artist between some songs. Audiences come to my shows to hear the classic oldies from the late 50's through the early 80's - a walk down music memory lane!
Yes, if it's a song I can perform well.
