My ability to figure out Bass Lines by Ear is exceptional and I try to achieve a mistake free performance and each and every Gig and Recording Session. Ralph Boyd Johnson and The Ruckus wre managed by Musiworks, Jann Arden's former Management Company. In my Music Career I have been able to experience being in Bands that have warmed up for major Acts such as Green Day, The Pursuit of Happiness, The Jeff Healey Band, and The Matthew Goode Band. I have played on big stages in front of large Audiences, the biggest being a sold out McEwan Hall at the University of Calgary twice, that venue held about 2200 Concert/Cabaret Goers. I also own top of the line eqipment and offer 4 and 5 String, Fretless and Synth Bass as well as Lead and Backing Vocals.
A sold out McEwan Hall warming up for The Pursuit of Happiness when a Member of The Quitters in 1991. I also played with The Quitters at a sold out charity event at McEwan Hall, the 1991 Rock Against Racism Benefit Gig. I estimate 2200 people attended each of those Gigs.
Rock and Roll and Blues Concert Events.
750 Gigs with local Calgary Bands as well as about 10 Albums having recorded on with said Bands. My first Pro Gig was at Calgary's first Original music Venue of any note "Ten Foot Henrys" as part of a 50s and Rockabilly Cover band "The G Notes". In The Quitters we warmed up for Green Day in 1990 and The Pursuit of Happiness at McEwan Hall in 1991. As part of Ralph Boyd Johnson and The Ruckus I was able to warm up for The Jeff Healey Band twice, once in Calgary, and once in Edmonton. We were also able to warm up for Matthew Goode at The University of Calgary's Blue Banana Lounge in 1998.
Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Collective Soul. Nine Inch Nails, Metric, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and also Jazz and Blues Greats from the 20th and 21st century. I think the Greatest Song of all time is "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. It has all the Hallmarks of a Masterpiece of composition and performance.
