I have over 30 years experience and have played at many high profile events. I am a former military piper and served with the World Famous Black Watch regiment. Whilst I was in the military I qualified as a class one piper which then enables military pipers to be recommended for the prestigious Pipe Majors course. As a class one piper, I was often required to perform as a soloist at important functions for various VIPs and senior officers.
I have been involved in events that have been broadcast to millions world wide such as, The Edinburgh Military tattoo and the Hand over of Hong Kong ceremony. Other events I have performed at include the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland, the Berlin tattoo, the Malta tattoo, musical tours to North America and New Zealand. I have also performed for Scottish societies in Scotland, England, Hong Kong, Canada and Kenya. Amongst these performances, I have had the privilege to play for Royalty and heads of state.
Over the years I have performed for many families at their celebrations such as weddings and funerals and other family gatherings. Each gathering requires different approaches and my extensive experience over the years helps me tailor each performance to suit the families needs.
I have a range of tartans available in a selection of different uniform options which can be discussed at the booking stage. Combining my uniform options with my extensive experience and standard of playing enables me to deliver a service to families that I believe is compatible with a families wishes and expectations at such an important time in their lives.
Please feel free to get in touch or browse my profile for more information about my services.

I've played on the Edinburgh Military Tattoo four times as well as other international tattoos as part of a band. As a soloist, the best gig to date was supporting D day veterans on a trip back to Normandy.
I love all the different events for different reasons, but birthday parties as a surprise can be quite special.
I have been playing the bagpipes for close to 40 years. When I was younger, I spent 5 years with the 1st Battalion the Black Watch and gained a huge amount of experience as a military piper, I use this experience to enhance the gigs I get booked for.
Pipers I served with have a huge influence on my piping today.
I have been full time for since 2019.
I typically arrive up to an hour prior to a booking (unless it's a surprise performance) to get familiar with the layout and tune up.
Different gig types require different performance times and I'm happy to discuss this in detail on a case by case basis.
Bagpipes work best outdoors so that is my preference, however, shorter performances can work indoors.
I'm happy to discuss music choices with clients, some music won't work on the limited range of the bagpipe, but I'm happy to play non-traditional pieces if they work musically.
I've been luck to receive fantastic feedback and the common theme is my flexibility in performances, communication and willingness to work with the clients to deliver a performance that suits their event.
Most of my clients are private customers.
I am the preferred piper for multiple Funeral directors in Cheshire, Lancashire, Manchester and Merseyside
