“CONVERSATIONS WITH CHOPIN”

This new project by the Ramón Díaz Group is inspired by the music of the Polish composer Chopin, considered one of the most important in the history of music and one of the greatest representatives of musical romanticism.

From melodies of his preludes, waltzes, ballads, nocturnes. Ramón Diaz Group gives an interpretation adapted to current times and passing through the filter that his long professional career gives him.

The fact that the group does not use a piano (the composer's main instrument) gives a very peculiar sound and a very personal character to the final result.

Ramón Díaz Group is a formation that has been in existence for more than 20 years and six CDs to its name, the first three in quartet formation (two saxes, double bass and drums) "Pues si", "O si no, Que? and “Sketches”, and

two a quintet, four of them with the prestigious record label Fresh Sound

and the last one a trio. His fourth CD “Diàleg” was very well received by national and international critics (Village Voice, Jazz Special, Jazz Hot, Jazz Magazine, Tomajazz, Apolo and Baco). He has also received the prizes for the best CD of 2006 "Diàleg" by the Association of Jazz Musicians and Modern Music of Catalonia) and for the best Group of 2006. Later he recorded his fifth album "Unblocking" which was released at the beginning of 2008 and which also received good national and international reviews (All About Jazz, el Pais) he continues with a sixth trio album "Bumpy Road" with which he was selected by the SGAE for the "JazzEñe 2017.
