DJ Raxeh - A Little Bit Of Background...
I am a open format/multi genre DJ with over 18+ months experience in the professional scene and around 4 years total experience.
I first began DJing when I was 19, beginning briefly on Vinyls then moved onto CDJs where I gained a lot my early DJ experience, after being ready to play out I got myself a portable DJ set up, which I use for most of my gigs today. My setup consists of a contoller, laptop, and sampler. (Mic available if required) All equipment PAT Tested till Jan 2021. In the early stages of my career I did a lot of gigs for free, as per usual, to help build up my experience playing in front of crowds, a range of different events such as a Nigerian/Zimbabwean pre-wedding party, house parties & open deck nights, the latter of which I still partake in when they are available. My biggest accomplishment to date, by far is Summer 2019, prior to that Summer I was at a point where I felt I needed to do something more to help progress my career, being 24 at them time I was not getting any younger. So I quit my job & booked a one way flight to Ayia Napa, Cyprus.
For what would inevitably be one of the best Summers of my life, to be completely honest.
I only had one goal, find a residency. It proved difficult for me to gain a residency or even gigs in Nottingham, since 87% of people in Nottingham happen to be DJs now, so I took the initiative and did something I've always wanted to do. I had visited Cyprus, 3 years before the Summer of '19, as a tourist & since then I'd wanted to return. Upon arrival I found a residency within 72 hours of landing in the country, I fortunately arrived early enough with the start of May being one of the quietest times of the season.
Shortly after I began my residency I was spotted by a local worker, who just so happened to work on one of the largest boat party cruises on the island. He was impressed with my skills as a DJ and invited me to do a guest set on the boat party, my knees were weak, palms were sweaty & I was nervous & excited. I ended up doing my first ever boat party to over 250 people and had a great time, I even managed to get myself a mini residency on the boat party after making friends with those that ran the event. Shortly after I was invited to do my first ever pool party, again another experience that did wonders for my confidence and experience as a DJ, the bar residency, along with the boat parties & pool parties kept me VERY busy during the Summer and I aim to do even better this year! (2020)
On arrival back to the UK in September 2019, I picked up a few jobs through friends and began networking with some bar/nightclub owners in the city, with my new found confidence and experience in my back pocket. I now DJ most weekends around a few venues in city centre & in Birmingham too, I'm now looking to expand and create more momentum for myself and become more versatile as a DJ & a brand.
(Fun Fact - I even got to do my first ever bar crawl of 500 people, it was absolutely mental, I was playing EDM & House for students from Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany & other European countries.)

DJ Raxeh - What tunes you got?
So I first started mixing House music, but I also had a liking for Dubstep, Drum & Bass & EDM. I grew up mostly on Dancehall, R&B, HipHop due to influences from my parents & siblings, I'm now predominantly an 'Urban DJ' lol but to adhere to the status quo I happily incorporate other genres in my gigs. For example, when I DJ at Slug & Lettuce Cocktail Bar in Nottingham I play HipHop, R&B, Reggaeton, Dancehall, House, Commerical, Dance Classics, AfroBeats, UK Rap & more, however when I play at Head of Steam in Birmingham I play Disco, Bit of Cheese, Soul, that whole 70s - 90s era, 90s R&B, 90s Hip Hop,Current Music, Garage, DnB. So I kind have the library for many different types of events.
The gigs I have enjoyed the most are definitely the high energy ones, when the crowd is just as hyped up as I am. In terms of music, my strong suit would be the 'Urban' scene, but as stated before I have songs for many types of crowds.
(Fun Fact - My first ever mix I put online was a DnB/Jungle Mix .)

DJ Raxeh - Where can we see you play, bro?
Most weekends you can find me at either Slug & Lettuce Nottingham Cornerhouse, Tier Cocktail Bar or Ink Nightclub Nottingham. As stated earlier, I do aim to go abroad again for the Summer so no dilly dallying :)

DJ Raxeh - What's your rate of pay?
This is ALWAYS subjective, I realise there is a price on this listing but it'd be unfair for me if I didn't take into account the MANY factors. The price to book me depends of the following:
How many hours will I be required to work? // How many hours will I spend travelling there & back? // How many people are you expecting?
What genres of music do you need me to play? // Do you require me to do Mic work? // Must I sort my own accommodation? // Must I bring my own PA System?
That's just to name a few, usually it's a lot simpler than the above, but to give you an accurate pricing the more info I have the better.
