Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The best gig I have ever done would be playing as SOB's in NYC at Nissi's headlining show; it was intimate & electric! The best venue has to be Westminster Abbey as the acoustics are heavenly.

What's your favourite type of event?

I love playing at all types of events, but I particularly enjoy playing at parties where I can dance along with the guests.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I have been playing the saxophone for nearly 20 years now. I learnt at school and my first time playing in public was with my friend at my friend's church. From there, I continued to play at different churches, and I was eventually asked to play at different events, so I have built on my craft and passion for bringing joy through my music from there.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

The artist I have been influenced the most by would have to be Kirk Whalum. I love what he has done as a jazz & gospel musician to build up his career in the commercial space.
Asking who my favourite artist is is a tough question. As much as I appreciate modern artists, my favourite artists are composers such as the hymn writers and composers from the classical period, such as Mozart.
Amazing Grace is the greatest song of all time to me as it's universal and for all generations,

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let me know.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Setup time varies depending on what the client needs, but typically I would arrive 1 hour before to set up.
Performance times as vary due to catering to the clients need. Even if I am booked for 2 hours for example, that can be split up over 3 hours.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I am happy to play outside, so longs as I am near a power point.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Yes, clients do have a say in what I play, as that is is considered as part of the fee.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients have described my performances as "very engaging and professional", "absolutely fabulous" and "her performance completed the vibe we were aiming to achieve".

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, I provide this for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 hour before the performance time. As soon as my PA is set up I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for the live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes that's fine, and song suggestions are also an option.
