The humorous marchin' group "SIZE 46 STREET BAND" is a successful mix of New Orleans and South-of -Italy musical styles. Active since 1995, this joyful ensemble has attended at Jazz Festivals, Buskers Meetings, Weddings, Country Fairs, Private Parties, carrying in all occasions smiles and great music!
7 musicians ( soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxes; trumpet, trombone and snare drum), create a unique sound where Dixieland, Italian Swing, Balkans, Blues, Napolitan and Sicilian Tarantellas, but also Chaplin, Weill, Nino Rota, Beatles (and much more) are blended: often than not, the audience take part to the show, following the band, dancing or creating happy carousels.
Improvisations take a huge part in the show, accordingly with the pure Jazz Tradition: from Muskrat Ramble to The Chicken; from Sweet Georgia Brown to I Got Rhythm, the positive energy of the SIZE 46 STREET BAND leave in the audience a sense of well-being.
The secret? We play AMONG the people!
