We are able to provide a piano keyboard, drum kit and PA system if required. All our equipment is PAT safety tested.

We don't provide a DJ service but we are happy to play music from an iTunes or Spotify playlist, selected in advance by the client or by ourselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The EFG London Jazz Festival was a fantastic event to be part of, and we really loved playing at Claridges Hotel in London, as it's such an iconic venue.

What's your favourite type of event?

We particularly love weddings and Jewish simchas (celebrations) because of all the generations that come together for a huge party.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We are all trained musicians with busy freelance music careers as individuals, and we did a show together for a festival. It was such great fun that we decided to form a band.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

One of our biggest influences is what we call the Jewish American Songbook - Jewish composers and writers who came to America and made a huge difference to the world of music, such as George Gershwin and Cole Porter, known for many of the famous jazz standards.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Our set-up time varies between 1 - 1.5 hours in advance of the performance. We usually play 2 x 45 minute sets, though this can be adapted to suit the client's requirements.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We are happy to perform outside, but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Clients are able to choose in advance from our repertoire lists. We can include specific songs before the event, up to a maximum of five songs, requested in advance.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

The New York Times described the band as “soulful and virtuosic”, and our heartfelt, fiery performances make us an audience favourite. The band features Miriam Kramer – “a violinist of superior natural talent” (The Strad), Sara Feldmann Brummer – “sensuous and impertinently hilarious vocals” (This Is Cabaret) and pianist Nicholas Durcan, whose Rhapsody in Blue (Gershwin) was praised as “a sparkling performance” by The Observer. Bassist Steve Rossell and drummer Hamish Birchall complete the sound.

Can you provide music for our chuppah ceremony too?

Yes, our singer Sara Feldmann Brummer is also an experienced Cantorial Soloist for Reform / Progressive Jewish weddings, and she is able to sing the Sheva Brachot and other musical elements of your Chuppah ceremony. We can provide a pianist and / or violinist to accompany her, or she can sing unaccompanied.
