BIOGRAPHY.
Baptist Gabriel aka. Saxy G is an amazing, prominent and sensational solo saxophone smooth Jazz artist. He is very versatile and known for his swiftness on stage, with his unique sound which is percussive yet soulful. He has the ability to surprise his audience with something out of the ordinary, and he gives his audience what they come for "A Great Show". Baptist Gabriel aka. Saxy G is a multi-skilled instrumentalist who combines playing the Piano and Bass Guitar with Saxophone. He studied Music Management and Music Technology. He has worked extensively in the studio and he has made numerous appearances at Jazz festivals, sharing the stage with many superstars. He is perfectly suitable for Fine dining restaurants, Elegant bar lounges, Open Terrance, Brunch format, Hotel properties, Weddings, Birthdays, Cruise Ships, Concerts, Festivals, Private functions and lots more.

I love playing at all types of events.


What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started gigging from a very young age and I have performed at numerous weddings, parties, lounges and events.


Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Kirk Whalum :- His Saxophone Smooth Jazz Performance have always been a crowd favorite. I like incorporating hits like All I Do into my sets.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally get to the venue about an hours and half before an event starts. This gives me enough time to set up. I normally perform 3 × 45 minutes set. I'm always happy to play a bit longer or shorter.


Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to play outside. I do ask for shade and a power supply close to the performance area.


Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I can learn specific songs before the event, but I will limit that to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from my repertoire or let me choose the music for them.
