We are an experienced jazz quartet that can play at a number of events. Whether it's playing at a lowkey resturant, a wedding, corparate performance or a bar gig, the Shane Warman Quartet has you covered. The band is a standard quartet with saxophone, bass, drums and guitar or piano (with an optional singer option depending on what you might want for your event).
Can play most jazz standards (but here’s a shortlist of the ones we know and like the most)

Performance space with enough room for drums and an electric piano (can make most spaces fit). Requires at least one if not 2 power plugs. 3 parking spaces would be great, however can make it work if not possible
Any directions for load in, as-well as if there’s any equipment already there that we will have to integrate with our own equipment.
We have bass and piano with amps (with drums not needing amplification). And the saxophone (and possible singer) will also have amps depending on the venue
Spotify playing before and after the sets is all good. We can choose the music if the venue wants or they can choose it
Our favourite gig is probably our regular gig at Satya Chai Lounge on K road. It’s a really cool spot and we have really enjoyed playing there.
We love playing at most events, our favourite ones are probably resturant and bar gigs as people are always so happy and are very respectful when we are performing.
We started gigging late last year and have continued to play at resturants and venues all over Auckland
We are very influenced by Kenny Garrett, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker and the rest of the jazz greats. Personally, my favourite artist is Charlie Parker however my favourite song is actually but not for me by Chet baker. We love incorporating music from these greats into our band.
The band started through a jazz combo at highschool. We worked hard and managed to win the best combo award at the national jazz festival in 2023. Following this we started to play more outside gigs and have been regularly playing throughout 2024
We can arrive whenever is convenient for the customers, the nature of our equipment means it is super easy to set up and start playing so this allows us to be flexible. Of course for formal events we will be able to be there much earlier and we can adhere so any schedule that we might be provided.
Yes, performing outside is great fun aslong as we are protected from any rain or bad weather. A flat surface is also necessary for the drums
Yes, we encourage clients to give a say in what they would like us to play. However, there is only so many songs we can learn for each gig so we like to learn at least 5 songs (of course given more time to prepare we can learn more)
We have been described as a sophisticated, fun and exciting jazz group. Lots of people have come up to us and said we have helped to make a space feel alive.
