SonGaia is the result of the coming together of 5 Colombian emigrant artists who fortuitously met on the island of Malta and decided to embark on an ancestral journey recreating the traditional music of the colombian caribbean coast and expanding it to european territories.

SonGaia's instrumental format is rooted in the african musical diaspora where the strength of the drums "alegre", "llamador" and "tambora", the melodies of the "kuisis" (native expression of the mountains to give name to the colombian "gaitas")
and the peasant songs in one of the most spoken romance languages in the world, spanish, transcends the frontiers of modern music, always searching for the purest form of human expression that resonates with the overflowing need to move and sing along with the beat of the candle.

Through rhythms such as porro, cumbia, bullerengue and tambora, SonGaia presents its musical legacy, the oral tradition of the region and invites us to be part of the sensory experience of discovering the magical territories where its music comes from.
