Introducing STRÄNGE BRÜE – a dynamic band that infuses energy and flair into their performances. With Virginia “Gin” Saltenberger, Roger Gwynn, Shane Thornton, Jim Singersky, Peter Brown, and Myron Hale, this six-piece ensemble delivers a vibrant mix of blues, pop, funk, rock 'n' roll, rhythm and blues, soul, and more.
Emerging from the challenges of the Covid lockdowns, Virginia's determination led to the creation of STRÄNGE BRÜE. Myron Hale joined eagerly, and Shane Thornton, brought in by a chance encounter, completed the lineup. Despite initial doubts, their New Year's Eve gig for 2023 exceeded expectations, marking the beginning of a musical journey filled with surprises.
Since then, STRÄNGE BRÜE has been captivating audiences with their diverse musical palette, defying conventional norms. Frequent gigs have become a testament to the joy and camaraderie shared among the band members. Join us as we continue this exciting musical journey!

We need a performance space of at least 6 meters by 3 meters. We require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 3 parking spaces.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.
Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music
We performed at the ISSA Awards for the 2019 International Singer Songwriters Association in Atlanta, GA - USA Hard Rock Cafe' and won the award for "Entertainer Of The Year 2019 and 2020.
We love playing at all sorts of events but weddings are our favourite! The guests are always happy and it’s easy to get them dancing.
We started gigging after the Covid lockdowns and our performances developed from there. Since we started we’ve performed at hundreds of weddings, parties and events and beyond.
Michael Jackson: His iconic pop and dance music have always been a crowd favorite, and we love incorporating funk hits like Brick House by The Commodores and Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry into our sets
We normally arrive 4-5 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
