Swing Shift offers entertainment and dance music for any and all events with two fabulous singers and some of the best musicians around. The smaller 11 piece band specializes in weddings and dance music for all ages, the full 19 piece band is well known for quality entertainment and music for any event. We can provide sound equipment if needed and can choose from thousands of songs to ensure expectations are met and audiences are happy. We offer competitive pricing and in our over 27 year history have many hundreds of satisfied customers and have performed at most of the finest venues in the GTA.
The 11 piece band requires a performance space of 12 feet deep by 16 feet wide, the 19 piece band requires a performance space of 16 feet deep by 24 feet wide. We require 2 15 or 20 amp power circuits and elevated stage would be preferable but not necessary.
We would need to know the exact address, the size of the room, load in information and whether the venue has their own sound equipment and personnel to look after our needs. Parking is also needed for both size bands.
We are able to provide all sound and lighting requirements if needed at a minimal additional charge.
We can play recorded music thru our sound system when needed. The choice of music can be either ours or the client, we have many choices of types and styles to choose from including SiriusXM satellite stations.
We have performed at many soft seat theatres in Ontario and New York and once for an outdoor festival we played to an audience of over 6000 people. No matter the size of the venue you'll get a polished and professional presentation.
For the big band our favourite show is in a soft seat theatre and for our wedding band (11 piece) of course weddings are the most fun we can have. Corporate events can also be fun since we most often get people up dancing when they didn't realize they wanted to dance.
I started gigging with a 4 piece band in legion halls when I was 17 and joined a big band around the same time. I have been leading bands since that time and this band was started by myself almost 28 years ago and we have done almost 1000 live events and recorded 10 full length recordings in that time. We are still going strong and have the drive to keep the most professional band in the GTA going.
The great sax players over the years have influenced me personally but our band plays the most recognizable and danceable songs since recorded music began. We feature all genres of dance music and of course the best big band jazz ever written.
We will arrive at least 2 to 3 hours ahead of the performance time to setup, and the sets can range from 1 one hour set to 4 forty five minute sets depending on the requirements of the event.
We are happy to perform outside as long as we have some type of cover from sun and rain. A flat level dry surface is always needed and power supply closeby is mandatory as well.
We are happy to work closely with clients in song choices for events but we are mostly left to our experience to choose the right songs for each occasion. I will ask many questions to ensure our music is the perfect choice for each event.
Our clients are always thrilled with our performances and give us glowing recommendations. The best thank you anyone can give us is to dance the entire time we are playing, or if it's a show with no dancing, a standing ovation at the end. That says it all.
