Tariq T. Tucker is a talented Bass player, born and residing in the Bronx, NY. Mr. Tucker began his musical studies at a very early age and was taught by his father, an accomplished professional musician. At the age of eight, Tariq and his brother performed at an “amateur night at the famed “Apollo Theater” and was awarded second place. Tariq continued performing in music festivals while he was still in elementary school and was seen as a musical prodigy by his Public School music teachers. In 2006, Tariq became a member of the “Boys Club of NY All-Star Band” and performed at myriad well-known jazz venues, including The Rainbow Room, Cipriani's, The Waldorf Astoria, The Julliard School, and at the prestigious Jazz at Lincoln Center concerts. Mr. Tucker’s tenure with The Boys Club allowed him the opportunity to further his formal music education, under the tutelage of professional musicians associated with the program.
Tariq has been featured in the award-winning documentary, “One Note at a Time,” which garnered both Cine Golden and Telly awards. Mr. Tucker has recorded or performed with, among others, Wizkid, Banky W, Rotimi, Bazaar Royale, Soleil Laurant, Roy “Royalty” Hamilton, Bridget Perez, Jasmine Man, Lea Robinson, Joanie Leeds, Fyutch, and Michael “Kidd Funkadelic” Hampton. Mr. Tariq T. Tucker is a professional musician who continues to tour and perform across the country.
