The Helltones are an indescriminate celebration of retro american music, drawing inspiration from Motown, Rockabilly, Surf Rock, Soul, Blues, and Doo-Wop. They can play hard and fast or slow and sweet depending on the energy level of your event, and can strike any balance of covers and originals you want to hear. A few of their go-to covers are Love Potion #9 by the Clovers, Tennessee Whiskey By Chris Stapleton, At Last by Etta James, and Shakin all Over by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates. Their original music has a similar sound, and they can tailor a set of up to 4 hours to suit the exact vibe you want to create.

We just need one power outlet reasonably close to where we'll be performing, a stage bigger than a postage stamp, and two parking spaces
We need to know the location, indoors or outdoors, will there be power available?
Yes, we can provide all of our own sound and lighting gear.
Absolutely, if you want to put together a playlist we can play that, or we can pick one out based on your preferences.
Best gig was at Kilowatt in San Francisco playing with the East Brothers and Shark in the Water. Packed house, high energy, people dancing and singing their butts off. Sound guy was on it too, no feedback and we could hear ourselves perfectly
Any kind of party, formal or casual. I love it when people dance
We've been gigging around the greater Bay Area for almost seven years, usually around 100-150 dates a year. I started when I was about 16 playing in indie bands in high school. I put this band together in 2017 because being in a band is the best!
Shannon and the Clams, Etta James, and The Cramps are high on the list. I love twangy, romantic, mysterious, and energetic. Greatest song of all time is impossible, but Fever by Elvis Presley is a strong contender
Sometimes. The listed price is a starting point but if we're driving very far or playing a very long set I'll charge a bit more. If you have a specific budget but your event is very cool ( eg. a festival or charity concert ) don't hesitate to make me an offer, we can negotiate a fair price.
We usually arrive an hour and a half before our set start. Two 45-minute sets or two 60-minute sets are my personal favorite but we can go up to 4 hours.
Outside is fine, we just require a canopy and a level stage to play on
Absolutely, we can learn whatever songs you would like to hear. For one event I prefer to keep it to 4 new songs, if you'd like a full list of covers we already know I can provide one
"You guys are my favorite band, please never stop" - Rachel Go, after we played her Halloween themed wedding in October 2024
