About / Biography

INTRODUCTION
Todd & the Two-Tars is just me and two guitars (“Two-Tars”). Whether you're in search of live music for a dance, happy hour or other type of event, this one-man band plays many of your favorite classic/soft/country rock hits mostly from the 1960s to the 1980s. I also can play a few newer country hits, as appropriate. You'll be amazed at the authentic vocals and how much the songs sound like how they were originally recorded. Listeners have been wowed at more than 40 venues in the Phoenix region as I performed nearly 100 times over the past fall-spring season.

Don't just take my word for it:

TESTIMONIALS
"Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to hear many musical entertainment groups. They have ranged from large groups to solo singers. Todd & the Two-Tars absolutely ranks as one of the best all-around solo singers I have ever heard. He has the ability to provide great dance music and is highly entertaining because he also is a very good musician. He truly delivers a great evening of danceable and fun music to listen to."
Tom Jennings, resident, Pueblo El Mirage Resort, El Mirage, Arizona

"Todd is great for happy hour music or events. He is easy to work with and has a great selection of music for all genres. Our club members requested him to be here each week for happy hour."
Cheri Farias, Director of Communications, the Country Club at DC Ranch, Scottsdale, Arizona

"Todd was introduced to us by one of our country club members who insisted he come in to entertain at our bi-weekly happy hour. What a talent! Our members and their guests were thrilled with his performance! You are a shining light Todd and we’re thrilled that we discovered you!! We only hope we have many more happy hours on the horizon that you’re available to wow our membership!"
Diane Gregg, Membership & Activities Director, Pinnacle Peak Country Club, Scottsdale, Arizona

“Todd is a pleasure to work with and brings something new and fresh to the stage every time! We enjoy having him here at the club and always look forward to his next performance!”
Bryce Caswell, Content Coordinator, Arrowhead Country Club, Glendale, Arizona

"Todd played for our Sunset Lounge, which is our happy hour from 4-6 pm. His song selection was great, and he kept the crowd engaged. I would recommend Todd & the Two-Tars for your next happy hour."
Jan Haden, Activities Director, Gold Canyon RV & Golf Resort, Gold Canyon, Arizona

"We had Todd play at our Veterans Day event and we were all very happy with the music he played and how personable Todd was. We will have Todd back again."
T Tobin, Activity Director, Weavers Needle RV Resort, Apache Junction, Arizona

PERFORMANCE DETAILS
Please note that I perform some songs with just a vocal and acoustic guitar, while others include full music tracks to offer a variety of upbeat and slower songs for listening enjoyment, all at a volume that fits your venue. I have been well-received by owners/managers and customers/guests at numerous resorts, restaurants, wineries and bars. I've been asked to play and return at nearly every venue where I've performed. I get great comments from customers and guests and I'm sure yours will like my music, as well.

Need electrical outlet and protection from sun if playing outdoors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The best gig is where the audience can listen to the music to fully enjoy the tribute-quality vocals. I've performed at too many venues to pick a best one.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've been performing this type of music since 2018.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Typical performance lengths are 2 or 3 hours (enough songs to play up to 4 hours), with a half hour to set up and a half hour to take down.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, so long as there is shade provide if during the daytime.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I can submit a list of my 200 songs to select preferred choices.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

At most venues, the most often comments are that the vocals are the best they've ever heard and that, while I perform many popular songs, I don't play all of the same songs as just about everyone else.
