Heady Cellist, Classically Trained Active member of a Milwaukee folk rock band. WAMI nominee in multiple categories

Hey I’m Tony. I have been playing cello my whole life. I was a section leader in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony- a collection of the most talented youth musicians in all of Wisconsin. I have played with the MSO, toured China for two weeks with MYSO, played Yo-Yo Ma’s cello with him, and won countless state competition awards for more than just cello performance.

Lately I have been playing lead cello and harmony vocals in an alternative folk rock band in the Milwaukee scene. We have been nominated for various awards through WAMI, and I have been nominated for String Player of the Year for Wisconsin. We currently have regular radio play in Milwaukee and Appleton. I am in complete control of the creative process for cello parts, and for 5 years I have been almost exclusively relying on improvisation to create my parts. During songs I play a mix of support harmony, moving fills, and shredding solos.

I want to play more. Quartets, duos, jazz ensembles, blues bands, metal music… I want to play it all. Plus I’m super fun, so you’ll enjoy working with me!
