Trovatori are tenor and soprano Darren and Caroline Clarke, modern-day troubadours who combine their voices with the enchanting timbre of Spanish guitars to create an entirely unique sound, crafting their own renditions of classical, opera and folk songs spanning different eras and styles.
Darren and Caroline share their passion for singing, travelling and discovery by exploring the musical world for some of the best known and loved songs from opera, operetta, art songs, traditional songs, folk and ballads. This husband and wife team met while performing at the Bregenz Festival in Austria, where they sang in the staging of Puccini’s Tosca that is featured in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace.
Trovatori’s talents take them all over the world performing in concert halls, theatres and churches, as well as at music festivals and many corporate and private events. They appear as guest artists for many luxury cruise companies such as Cunard, Holland America and Saga, as well as headline entertainers for Warner Leisure Hotels. As artists they have performed in many prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Cadogan Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall as well as live in concert on BBC Radio 3.
Trovatori's two albums, Songs from here, there and everywhere and Songseekers, were recently added to the British Library's National Sound Archive.
Darren and Caroline continue to pursue their individual careers alongside the duo. Darren studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and has sung in opera houses and theatres all around the world. Caroline studied composition at Durham University before embarking on a singing career. She has since performed numerous operatic roles and in concert internationally.
