With over two decades of experience, I bring a diverse foundation of work as a trumpeter. My roots lie in the emotional and vibrant sounds of mariachi, the precision and efficiency of marching band and the high, octane energy of ska - each of which shapes my tone, versatility and approach to my performance. Over time, I've branched into some contemporary/jazz-like styles and can adapt my playing to suit a wide range of musical settings.
I am proud to perform regularly with well established ska bands in the local LA scene, such as Major League Skankers, La Muerte, and The Gritty End. These projects and collaborations have given me great opportunities to explore the local scene and travel a great distance.
Whether I am locking into a groove, leading the charge, or just adding some salt and pepper to the tune, I aim to serve the music with authentic, raw emotion and technical command. I'm just as comfortable being in the spotlight as I am taking a back seat and giving a great performance.

My favorite gig had to be opening for a hardcore show at The Observatory in OC. Great crowd and great sound, it was a blast!
As cool as big events can be, small intimate ones are just as fun. I just love to play and perform.
I started gigging in high school with a mariachi my friend was a part of. That went on up until after I graduated and started a band with my friends. From there, I branched out to other bands and started to make a name for myself in the local ska scene.
There are a myriad of artists that influenced me. Michael Jackson, Freddie Hubbard, Miles Davis, Arturo Sandoval, Raphael Mendez, John Williams ,etc... The list can go on and on.
I like to arrive to a gig about 1-1.5 hours before stage time. Typically with my bands, we perform later; after 8:30pm or so.

I can learn specific peaces, definitely. I can also read music and sight read if necessary.
