Vintage Strings has been providing the warm sounds of strings to weddings in San Diego for over 25 years. Each of our members has extensive training on their instrument and bring years of performing experience to each event we play. Our repertoire over the years has grown from the traditional wedding favorites, Pachelbel Canon, Wedding March, Bridal Chorus as well as many other classical masterpieces to include pop favorites from the Beatles, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Taylor Swift and lots more!
Our rates are structured into first hour/additional hour fees. First hour or ceremony only covers 20-30 minutes of prelude, all music needed for the ceremony itself from the first processional to the recessional, then exit music as your guests leave the church or ceremony area. Additional hours are half the first hour rate. We can also do hour and a half sets. Our events are pretty evenly split between ceremony only and ceremony plus cocktail hour gigs.
The quartet (2 violins, viola and cello) is our premier group offering the largest classical and pop repertoire. Its rates are $800/400.
Next is the trio (2 violins and cello) offering all the classical standards and a growing pop selection though not as extensive as the quartet’s. - $700/350
Finally we offer a duo (violin/cello) ideal for smaller venues or the more budget conscious. Its repertoire is almost all classical with a few (but growing!) list of pop songs. - $500/250
Our attire is formal black, we bring our own stands and lights if necessary. Booking requires a 50% deposit and signed contract.
