The best gig I ever done was on the 4th July celebration/festival in Taiwan on Cijin beach at sunset to a great crowd.
My favourite type of event is always whenever/wherever the audience walks away with a smile on their face.
I have been gigging since I was a teenager, starting in clubs and bars in Liverpool. Since then, I have worked as a musician in London in the 90’s and played in Thailand 2008, Taiwan 2019, USA 2016, Ghana 2010, Mexico 2015, and across Europe 2008 - 2024 gigging in bands and as a solo act. I have toured with 3 time Grammy nominated artist Rocky Dawuni as a guitarist and backing vocalist in 2016. Rocky Dawuni is an artist who has also collborated with Peter Gabriel, Bono, Stevie Wonder.
I am constantly in search of new music and convinced that it becomes more inventive and Interesting. My influences are too many to mention, a summary would be David Byrne from Talking Heads, Thom Yorke (Radiohead) The Beatles and The Who.
Normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. I normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. Happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit the audiences
Happy to play on a flat level surface outside and a power supply close to the performance area.
I can learn specific songs before the event but usually limit this to 3 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from my repertoire of over 100 songs.
Customers would describe my performances as having a great choice in covers with refreshing interpretations.
