We are the Zukira Duo - a unique cello and guitar duo able to perform music from a range of genres including Classical, Pop, Rock, R&B, Soul , Afrobeats and Jazz.
We are flexible & versatile and regularly perform at a wide range of occasions and events.
Our Ugandan heritage is a big part of our story. We are both half-Ugandan, met in Uganda in the music scene there and have played together ever since.
Abbie is half English, was raised in the UK and is classically trained. Gavie is half-Ukrainian, was raised in Uganda and his playing is strongly influenced by African contemporary/jazz music.
With Zukira, our vision has been to combine the classical sonorous sound of the cello with African contemporary guitar to create an incredible musical fusion!

Yes, we are completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs.
We performed for the Netflix Show 'Love is Blind' Main Event in Central London - August 2024.
Was amazing to be part of such a prestigious event!
We normally arrive 1.5 hours before the performance to set up.
Our standard performance time is 2 x 50 minute sets. We're happy to do shorter or longer at the clients request.
We're happy to perform outside as long as there is a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event, and usually give the option of 3 songs.
Clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
