About / Biography

Hi there! I'm Álvar Llusá-Damiani, an Argentinean violinist, guitarist and singer based in Barcelona, Spain. I have huge experience playing both Classical & Modern Music. Between my highlights, I can mention that I have played several times with Manu Chao, that I've been awarded with an Extraordinary Prize in Composition (Conservatori Liceu, Barcelona) and that I appear playing in a chapter of Netflix series "Merlí: Sapere Aude"

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I can play acoustically but, depending on the context, amplification would be helpful. In that case, I would need an electricity input. And shadow.

What information do you require about a venue?

Timings, location and special song requests.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I can provide sound equipment.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Never did that before, but I could try it!

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

I've performed for Manu Chao at Estadio Obras Sanitarias (Buenos Aires) for almost 5.000 pp, that was incredible!

What's your favourite type of event?

I love playing at all sorts of events.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've started gigging at my early 20's, playing in different kind of events. During the past 10 years I've performed in concerts, corporate events, private events, weddings, weddings proposals, cruise ships, fashion shows, funerals, birthday's parties, religious events...

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Johann Sebastian Bach, David Gilmour, Stéphane Grappelli, Jean-Luc Ponty. My favourite artist is Frank Zappa. Bohemian Rhapsody is probablly the greatest song of all time.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally arrive 1 to 2 hours before the performance to set up. I normally 2 or 3 hours (with little rests in between). I'm happy to play a bit longer or shorter but I've found that these set times suit me and the guests best."

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to play outside but I ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I can learn specific songs before the event but I usually limit this to 3 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from my repertoire or let us choose the music for them.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous customers are very happy - you can read some of their comments :)

Do you have more songs than the ones that appear in the list?

Yes. I've performed so many music in my life that I just cannot put everything down. Just ask me! :)
