SOUNDS OF EUROPE DUO
NEREA GIMENO (violin) & CSENGE NAGY (piano)
Nerea Gimeno is a freelance violinist focused on style-mixing, social involvement and creative projects. Versatile player, she is developing her own projects and she is a member of different ensembles around the country (Stage Strings, Still I Rise Collective, Jong Metropole Orkest).
Csenge Nagy is a classical piano teacher in Romania, activity that combines with concerts in solo and ensembles around different countries. She is regularly called to perform as a repertorist as well as chamber musician.
Sounds of Europe is a violin-piano duo project founded in Groningen during our Master Studies under the idea of playing our repertoire out of the school, performing regularly in different venues and starting therefore our professional career. With a repertoire that mainly focuses in classical pieces based on folkloric elements, we believe that these short chamber pieces allow us to reach a deeper connection between us and with the different audiences we play for. In this sense, our aim is to bring classical music out of the concert halls, what brought us to perform in bars, elderly homes, churches, community centres, campings...
This concert proposal has received a very positive feedback from the audience and has brought us a beautiful network in Groningen and surrounds.
Beyond our current repertoire, we love to play in private events like weddings, ceremonies, parties...
