"Dear Peter and the band. Just to say thank you for such a brilliant evening. It was really appreciated. (You are all brilliant musicians). Olwen really enjoyed her 70th. We had a fabulous time. All your reviews will be 10 out of 10. Thank you so much. Especially as you had to come a long way. All I can say again is thank you"

"Ian’s single aims to give a lift to anyone struggling Singer-songwriter Ian Thompson has released a new single ‘Starting Today’, which he hopes will provide ‘a lift’ for those struggling with their mental health or addiction. It’s available now on all digital platforms. Ian said: ‘It’s been on my mind a lot recently, as many people I know are suffering with mental health and addictions. There have been some tragic cases on the island, and I just wanted to write this song with the message that it doesn’t have to be like this, there is always a way out and every day is a new day.’ Born in Liverpool, Ian moved to the island 13 years ago, after meeting his now wife during a trip to the island when he visited some friends. When he moved, he decided to become a full-time musician, and frequently gigs in venues across the island, as both a solo artist, and with a band. He added: ‘I have worked in telesales, taxis, music shops, done office work, you just do what you can to get by, but the one dominant thing in my life that I have always done is my music and playing in bands.’ Ian has been writing music for years, and one of his songs ‘You’re my Liverpool’ has been added to Liverpool Football Club’s playlist. He explained his process of writing music. ‘I usually come up with a tune first, if I like the tune, then I come up with lyrics to go with it,’ he said. The words usually just fly out of me. I have never been short of things to say, and I think the tune dictates what the words are going to say.’ As with much of his music, Ian’s latest single was recorded at Ballagroove Studio, run by Gyp Buggane. Featured artists on the track include saxophonist Sammy J and piano was played by Ian Wright. Ian has more songs in the pipeline, and on top of his gigs and song-writing, he is looking to build his own recording studio with the help of Gyp."

"….Friends Restaurant, three times winner of the ‘Best Restaurant with Entertainment in Australia’, has booked Australian acts like Daryl Braithwaite and Mental as Anything and international acts such as The Platters and The Searchers. But it is the tribute acts like The Australian Beatles, AbbaFab and The Australian Blues Brothers provided by All Star Showstoppers that have patrons saying it is the best show they’ve been to. "A truly amazing Lennon and McCartney show performed by Jon Perry last weekend. His vocals, guitar playing, and keyboard playing were excellent. The intimate setting along with great visuals and background music all enhanced the show. Joining all of us for dinner after the show further displayed his wonderful personality! "

"I was first made aware of Ian Thompson about 6 years ago when he joined a musical trio I was part of, as a vocalist and guitarist. I was immediately struck by Ian’s voice; with perfect pitch and tone he was able to tackle any type of song we covered, with impressive results. Our group eventually became a designated Beatles cover band. Ian was arguably the biggest asset we had, as having grown up on the music his style and voice suited the material perfectly. It was about three years into my friendship with Ian before I first heard his original music. I chanced upon it whilst listening to Manx Radio, and was absolutely blown away come the end of the track, when the presenter announced who it was by. It was a far edgier effort than I would have expected from the man who I had come accustomed to playing ‘safe’ pub rock/pop covers with. It led me to seek out Ian’s back catalogue, which having listened to voraciously confirmed my suspicion that he is a serious talent. In an Island full of musical talent Ian stands up there with the best of them as his skill for songwriting is supported by his own abilities."

"Deuces Wild organised a fundraiser for a friend who had a stroke to help with his medical bills. I let them have said fundraiser at my establishment, they also performed as they are a great professional Rock/Blues band ,had the place packed to capacity with people lined up at the door wanting to get in, they raised close to $4000.00 when all was said and done and had a fun entertaining night doing it."

"I must say these guys exceeded expectations. They played exactly the right kind of music for our 50th Anniversary. We had 90+ guests and they got ‘em up on the dance floor and kept them there all night. I have had nothing but good reports from all the guests. One of our guests has taken their details for a future booking. We have no hesitation in recommending them for similar events. I can also give a verbal or written references. A really good job and thank you all so much"
