"Move Over Dali played for about 3 hours and had everyone rocking. They were fun and entertaining without being too loud and were a bit different from groups at these sort of events"

"Miss Pearl was a huge hit at our Jubilee afternoon tea (Age UK Carlisle & Eden) Happy faces all round, singing and dancing in the aisles. Miss Pearl sang songs through the decades so something for everyone. We will definitely be booking her again for future events. Excellent, Thank You"

"Interestingly, this unique saxophonist is able to play a variety of genres. He can charm you with flamenco flames on the saxophone, play blues and jazz for cocktails or go country with the strings. Or dabble in rockabilly and funk."

"I just want to say a BIG thank you for last Saturday. Dunstable Live was a huge success and that was in part due to your band. We had over 1000 people attend which as the weather was so horrendous was a surprise. But everyone left with smiles on their faces."
Jacqui Harding (Dunstable Town Council)

"We hired the Hoedown Band for our Xmas party and they were fantastic. They were very professional, neatly presented and they sounded great on the night. We were a small crowd but their lead singer [caller] Dawn was very interactive and educational with her dance moves. The band knew their instruments and songs very well and I would certainly recommend them."
- Lindsay (Bawrunga Medical Service) (Xmas Party)

"We booked Rockin Rebel for our event and can't express enough how great he was he kept the floor filled all night with his Classic 1950s and early 1960s songs from Artists such as Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury, Buddy Holly, and lots more artists from that era he also sang some great obscure Rock n Roll songs aswell and some lovely ballads which our members loved. We have recommended him to other rock n roll clubs aswell as he deserves plenty of recognition for the great performance he gave us."
Daniel smith (1950s Rock n Roll club)

"Made in Ireland" is the name of the festival, but it only features one real Irishman. Gavin Carpenter travels directly from Dublin to Neu-Ulm. Squeezed into his tour schedule between two gigs in Dublin's Temple Bar pub district. His motto in Neu-Ulm as well: "No Fillers, only Killers." With a best-of-Irish folk, from traditional hits like "Back Home in Derry" to hits by the Pogues, Carpenter goes from zero to 100. Remarkably, the Johnny Cash look-alike would also pass for a double of the "Man in Black" vocally with his covers. "

"There’s more to Johnny Ticktin than meets the eye. Well-versed in the blues, having once served as lead guitar player for the legendary Louisiana Red, the open-minded Ticktin is a sponge, soaking up the subtle six-string nuances and intricacies of a multitude of genres—from surf to classic R&B, swing and even Mambo—on his eighth album with The Headhunters, That’s All I Need. It would feel right at home in any rough-and-tumble roadhouse. The title is borrowed from a song, covered here in all its dark, swampy glory, off Magic Sam’s 1967 iconic electric blues marvel West Side Soul. Watery, backwoods ripples of Sam’s tremolo guitar style and seductive rhythms meander through Creedence Clearwater Revival’s mysterious kudzu on Johnny & The Headhunters’ version, as Ticktin and company paddle up a lazy river of Bayou groove. Just as fluent in nasty rockabilly, they thrive in the sweltering heat of the 1957 obscurity “Chicken House,” giving it a warm buzz and making it rumble and swagger, while the lascivious, infectious funk of “Body and Fender” – a Doc Pomus/Duke Robillard joint originally built for soul crooner Johnny Adams – shakes all over and ogles the female form. A rousing, boogie-woogie version of Lowell Fulsom’s Chess Records’ hit “Rock ‘Em Dead” is wonderfully shambolic, and Ticktin rides the lightning of the Link Wray instrumental “Ace of Spaces” like a champ, gleefully wheeling through edgy garage-rock riffs with appropriate vim and vigor. What feel he and his band have for this material. There is not the slightest bit of indifference to it anywhere on this record. Not that they need it, but help arrives in the form of keyboardist Tam Sullivan, who wraps smoky, sensual organ and wraiths of piano around a soulful remake of Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “Lead Me On,” and singer Liz Springer, who joins her brazen vocals to Ticktin’s in the cheeky, but charming, duet “Watch and Chain.” And, with the solid machinery of a good backing band at work behind him, Ticktin can just let loose – witness the slide-guitar fury of their cover of Elmore James’ “Shake Your Money Maker.” For aficionados of tasteful guitar work and music that time shouldn’t have forgotten, this is what you need. —Peter Lindblad SPREAD THE NEWS! "The energy that you and the band gave off was contagious and the community loved how enriching and up-tempo the music was from The Vinyl Stripes and how you actually included the audience in some songs! The positive feedback from the attendees was undeniable! Thanks again for an outstanding performance and best of luck in your future endeavors."

"Like Morricone for Leone The Self Portrait Blues contribute to your wedding just as Ennio Morricone's soundtracks did for Sergio Leone's films. Leone's films were beautiful, of course, even without Morricone's music. But with Ennio, they became unforgettable masterpieces! And the Self Portrait Blues transform a beautiful wedding into an unforgettable event for you and your guests."
