"Better than our idols You only turn 65 once, that called for a party with 65 guests, excellent catering and live jazz music with a singer (Willem). We preferred the style of crooners Michael Bublé and Dennis van Aartsen, but this band was even better than our idols and exceeded our expectations; great music, super professional, with fun band members. It became a top party with compliments about the music from all guests, young and old. We look back on it with great pleasure!"

"Hi Derek, Many thanks for your good wishes. Can't tell you how much we all enjoyed your music. It made the evening for us all. ... the response and dancing by the guests spoke for itself. There is no question that if we celebrate our anniversary again in the future, we will ask you back to celebrate with us. Our best regards to all the Dixielanders and again our thanks for making the evening the success it undoubtedly was."

"With all the hype going to Wynton Marsalis, you might not guess that there are other, lesser-known, straight-ahead trumpet players out there who are consistently ripping the hide off the ball. This, Rick Holland's auspicious debut, is an impressive effort. The trumpeter leads his quartet, backed by a solid Michigan-based rhythm section: pianist Terry Lower, bassist Ed Fedewwa, and drummer Larry Ochiltree, through a fiery trail of originals and standards, interspersed with some fine balladry. Holland's sensitive ear translates to some tight arrangements and a well-organized program. On flugelhorn, he boasts a rich, full tone that purrs with warmth. On the faster tunes, he steams. This is the kind of jazz that feels just right on a wintry day, with the fireplace in full throttle, and the feet resting on a cushion: it hits the spot perfectly, drenched with emotional power and skillful fortitude. "80th Anniversary of D-Day, Mansion House, at the worshipful company of Feltmakers annual Banquet with representation from the Lord Mayor of London and 200 guests. Singing after hearing a major speech by Sir Winston Churchill. You stole the show - so many of our guests were enthralled by your singing on this very special occasion. It was wonderful to hear you and everyone was so impressed and emotional, many had tears in their eyes as the emotions flooded back regarding World War II and for many your performance will be remembered by them forever. Thank you. Lt Col (Ret) Simon Wilkinson TD DL, Master Feltmaker (6th June 2024) "

"These guys were great, they made the evening so much fun. They were accommodating and even moved and changed to acoustic after our venue got a bit hot and our guests moved to a cooler part of the venue."

"The Swing Quartet played wonderful music at the vernissage of my exhibition in De Breek in Oosthuizen. High quality. And especially for me, my favorite song from the Andrew sisters ' bei mir bist du shein' . Fantastic."
