"Good evening Derek, Well, you cracked it!! I’ve heard nothing but good reports regarding your input to our evening; on behalf of everyone who was present, and in particular our members, I wish to thank you and the boys for making it such a special evening for us. I have no doubt that you will be contacted by people who were at the event, which is no more than you deserve. Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing you in the future. Kind regards"

"Dear Hetty, Thank you for entertaining us at my recent party at the Shard. I think you were the perfect act for the event. You have a wonderful voice and the band create a great rhythm. The playlists were very well chosen and executed. I would have no hesitation in recommending you for other events or providing you with a reference. Best wishes, Chris"

"Mindy and her combo, made our wedding celebration unique and complete. Mindy, your vibrant rich voice is like "HOME" to me. The tasteful accompaniment layered our party with the perfect background and foreground for the event. Your fantabulous taste and style trickles down into your music. You have a flair for knowing exactly what is right and what is needed. Your jazz combo made the evening a totally memorable and romantic evening for Terry, me and my party for 100 people to celebrate our wedding. You played exactly what everyone needed and wanted to hear. Bless you two for adding to a day we will never forget. Love, Terry and Lauren Bogos Schoneberg."

"I saw Almaz at the Nantwich Food Festival and was incredibly impressed with the vocals and general musicianship. Loved the sound of the old Gibson guitar, such a sweet sound, never managed to get that sound out of any of mine. A great performance."

"We had the pleasure of having the USO-10 piece play at our wedding in May 2017. From the minute we met Rick Holland and heard the band play we knew they were the band for us. It was a pleasure to work with Rick, who was so professional and helpful in many ways especially song choices from everything to cocktail music, our entrance song, first dance, parent dances to our exit song. The dance floor was never empty. We are thrilled with the USO and look forward to hearing them again in the near future!! Thank you for making our wedding so special! Maureen and Mark Deckman"

"Michelle's Birthday Party - excellent jazz band, very classy, perfect for the event in question. It's nice to see a band which does things so simply and professionally, providing a full sound with the minimum of equipment. They were happy to play to the room when people were eating and talking, at a volume which still allowed conversation, but were friendly and engaging as and when people wanted to interact with them. The singer they provide (if required) has a great voice, well matched to their style, no over-acting or dramatic self indulgence, just confident, strong and pitch perfect. Great day, thank you."

"We had the pleasure of Melissa singing at our vintage themed Wedding in February. What can I say - Melissa is so talented and a beautiful singer. She made our drinks reception absolutely perfect and all our guests where complimenting how fantastic she was. Melissa was so accommodating with her set list and even sang a personal request for me and Tom (husband). Having Melissa sing at our wedding made our day the extra special and I could not recommend her highly enough. Thank you so much and we would love to see you sing again in the future."

"WE were so glad we found Andrew Thielen Big Band. They are a real band that has been together for over twenty years perfecting their music, showmanship and dazzling variety of music that kept our dance floor jammed. WE almost got swayed into one of these chain bands called Empire something where they throw together bands for one night until we figured out you cannot be a 3 piece band one week and a 12 piece band the next. WE wanted a real band where the band leader has had repeat performances for the most discriminating buyers for years. Every age, everyones taste in music and our twenty something wedding party had the time of our life. Call them now for sensational singers, instrumentalists and organization. "

"Just wanted to say how brilliant the band was yesterday. You really helped to let Wimbledon know that Neptune have arrived in style! So well received in fact that the big boss said they want Melisma Manouche at all their events!"

"Muriele, I want to thank you once again for the wonderful singing you did on our wedding day. Your performance was wonderful and it really added to the atmosphere of our cocktail drink reception straight after our wedding. Walking into the room with you singing ''La vie en rose" was absolutely magical."

"Review of Trilby - The liner notes inform us that this ensemble started as a swinging dance band in 2005. Since then, they've evolved into a solid, well-arranged outfit with first rate solos played by intriguing, skilled jazz cats. The feeling I derived from the CD was similar to a classic Blue Note session. You know, several well-written originals that are melodically strong, and a few standards to test the players' chops on familiar material. The co-leaders play flugelhorn and trombone, respectively. Most of the arrangements come from pianist Bill Dobbins, who allows plenty of room for free-swinging solo work. The familiar vehicles here include Benny Golson's "Stablemates" and Sonny Stitt's "Eternal Triangle." I also spotted a tune called "Rich's Call" by Kerry Strayer, a baritone player of the highest stripe, and a skilled composer and arranger as well. It is interesting to note three compositions from jazz harmonica whiz, Hendrik Meurkens. Perhaps he has some connection to the band. Finally, it should be said that this session is directed straight down the middle of the bop highway. Simply an outstanding blowing session on songs that, amazingly enough, sound like songs!"

"Saturday December 14 we went to the Christmas concert of the Marcia Bamberg Swing Quartet in the old pumping station in Heerhugowaard. Great, atmospheric evening with top musicians and the beautiful, lived-in voice of Marcia Bamberg. Gipsy Jazz, the way you like to hear it. Amazing how Christmas hits and French chansons were arranged in the swinging style of Django Reinhardt. We can expect a lot from this Quartet! Recommended."
Michael Abspoel (Christmas concert)
